PSC Autocentre is Gloucestershire’s premier Independent Specialist German Vehicle Service Centre.

About you

You have a strong vehicle technical/electrical/mechanical awareness, able to interpret back-of-house jargon into front-of-house lingo - and vice versa. 

You have a firm grasp of business - the knowledge of how to drive profit and to keep loss at an absolute minimum; a results-driven attitude; an unrivalled level of efficiency. You can capably juggle an ever-changing and demanding workload. You're adaptable, you're not easily flustered and you thrive in a busy environment. 

You are a strong leader, with experience of managing a team. But you're equally happy to get stuck in and support your team when the going gets tough. 

Excellent customer service isn't enough for you: it needs to be exceptional! You put your fabulous people skills to use with every client, team member and supplier to provide assistance that is professional, polite, precise and positive. 

Your organisational skills are unparalleled, you are a stickler for detail, and you have fantastic time management. You can prioritise not just your own workload, but the activities and schedules of a complex and busy team. You are excellent at project management, have meticulous planning, and are consistently results-driven.

You are a people person who is great at building lasting relationships with clients, colleagues and suppliers. Your communication skills - both written and spoken - are unrivalled.

You have at least two years' experience in a similar role, possibly within a main dealer or prestige independent. You want to be a driving force in an ambitious and proactive business that is committed to delivering results.  

About the role

You will be responsible for supporting and managing our two Service Advisers, maintaining the productivity and performance of our front-of-house team. You will also be the unbreakable link between front and back-of-house, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all workshop jobs in the best interests of our clients and our business.

You will work closely with our Head Technician to identify the most effective way of completing the required daily tasks; taking into account the varied skills of the workforce, the priorities of the business and the cost implication.

Your Main Duties include:

  • Leading the front of house team in day-to-day tasks, taking a pro-active approach to business growth.
  • Ensuring the workshop is operating efficiently and profitably through the effective use of labour resources, materials and equipment.
  • Making sure servicing and repairs are carried out to the highest quality standards, delivering an unparalleled service experience that guarantees customer satisfaction.
  • Regularly stepping in and running the Centre independently: you're the Service Manager’s second in command.

This role comes with:

  • £28,000 basic salary* with an uncapped bonus scheme with a realistic, proven and highly achievable OTE of £35,000 per annum
  • Working hours Monday-Friday 8:00am-5.30pm (we've broken with convention and do not open Saturdays!)
  • 24 days holiday per annum [plus 8 national Bank Holidays]
  • Pension scheme

*We're happy to pay top rates for top people and salary can be negotiable based on experience.
