Vehicle Master Diagnostics Technician

Do you get a kick out of diagnosing and repairing issues that other Master Technicians simply can't fathom? Are you a problem solver with an inquisitive mind, who won't rest until the unfixable has been fixed? Then this could be the perfect role for you...

About us

PSC Autocentre is Gloucestershire’s premier Independent Specialist German Vehicle Service Centre. And following record growth we are looking to appoint an additional experienced Diagnostics Technician to join our existing five technician team.

Every member of PSC staff has the opportunity to attend regular professional training as part of their employment, including courses at the manufacturers’ own training centres.

Our approach to training means more than just perfecting traditional skills. We’re keeping up with the advances in vehicle technology, from premium model servicing to the latest in Hybrid & Electrical diagnostics and maintenance.

We pride ourselves on our ability to successfully diagnose and rectify faults that others run away from. It's one of our core strengths, and one of the reasons our clients trust us to go the extra mile for their vehicle.

We don't offer "temporary fixes": we prefer to offer the correct fix. First time. Every time.

About you

You're a natural born problem solver. You get a kick out of diagnosing and repairing uncommon, undocumented issues that ordinary technicians cannot fathom. In this role you can expect to diagnose issues that even the manufacturers and main dealers haven't come across yet so if you're solely reliant on "guided fault finding" you'll be entering uncharted territory here!

You're adept at utilising manufacturer diagnostic systems, and should be able to read wiring diagrams to help trace issues. You're able to log, read and interpret historical and live data collected from a problem vehicle to achieve an accurate diagnosis: and you act on your findings to resolve the issue.

You are organised, show attention to detail, and are results-driven. You have excellent time management skills, meticulous planning, and the ability to juggle an ever-changing and often demanding workload. You're adaptable, you're not easily flustered and you thrive in a busy environment. You are a strong team player and can take the initiative.

You're fully qualified (City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3); with factory main dealer experience. You consistently provide exceptional customer service and will uphold the PSC commitment to exceed every client's expectations.

Does this sound like you? Then we want to hear from you.

About the role

We offer a great working environment, a competitive salary and the opportunity to help shape an ambitious and innovative company.

We're proud to be one of only a handful of independent service centres who provide our employees with the opportunity to attend accredited Manufacturer Training Courses. It's fundamental to staying one step ahead of our competitors, and offering our clients a first-class experience.

This role comes with:

  • £39000 per annum
  • Working hours Monday-Friday 8.00am-4.30pm (we've broken with convention and do not open Saturdays!)
  • 25 days holiday per annum [plus 8 national Bank Holidays]
  • Company Pension Scheme

*We're happy to pay top rates for top people and salary can be negotiable based on experience.

What comes next?

We will invite successful candidates to interview.
